Why are Dyson building high price throw away items?

I have the hair straighteners at £400. The batteries have given up and the charger lead has never been powerful enough to power the unit if the batteries aren’t charged. They are 2 years nine months old and Dyson booked in for a repair but then cancelled.
apparently they are not repairable as this product isn’t at all. So throw them away and buy another pair with 25% discount. I won’t be doing that but try to complain and your stone walled. Dyson that is supposed to be a high end company selling high quality products have turned into Trotters Independent Trading from what I can see.
Ive been a loyal customer for 25 years and more.
So why are they selling out there customers now for a little more sales?

Hi @NT976,

Dyson machines are made of high-grade, recyclable materials - and can be responsibly disposed of at the end of their working life at any local recycling centre.

Hi Aastha.
As you may have noticed I never said there was an issue paying for the repair.
I’m asking why won’t you repair it and why are you wanting me to throw away this fairly new product and waste even more energy, resources and money.
Don’t know where you have got any facts about the amount of use it’s had as I haven’t mentioned it but just stated that you scrap your products after only 2 years 9 months. Again I was happy to pay for the repair at £99 but it would appear Dyson wants more. Hence why it feels a bit Only Fools and Horses.
Dyson products are no longer quality and I know I have several and the customer service is atrocious.

Which is why you won’t allow us to complain.

When you pay £400 for a pair of hair straighteners you would expect them to last at least as long as the ones you brought for £60 nine years previous.
When you buy from a house hold name brand like Dyson you would expect them to have a good customer service. The £400 straightener lasted just 2 years 9 months. So by far the £60 ones were far better value for money and the customer service is horrendous and I couldn’t ever find out the complaints procedure. Something I will be taking up with the ombudsman.

I also replied to your private message. I have had zero contact back from you. And I noticed you’ve wrote solved across the top of this question. Clearly the customer service is as good throughout the business as the shocking customer service I’ve received over the phone.

thank you for treating your customers so poorly. I now know to never buy Dyson again and put as many people as I can off

Since having this issue, I spoke to several people and they’ve all said very similar stories about how Poor the quality of the product is And how bad the customer service is. So I’m not alone and hopefully over the next few years Dyson will lose its market share to more quality products that are readily available in the shops already
