V11 Motorbar Leaking Dust

I just purchased a new V11 and love it so far, except for one issue. The Motorbar head leaks dust around the wheels/joint between the connector and the head. Is this expected, or could I possibly have a defective head?

Hi @KevinC,

Welcome to the Dyson Community!

To reassure you, this won’t be leaking from the air ducts, which include robust internal seals. Static charge generated in use may cause dust particles and fragments of loose carpet fibres to cling to the outside of the cleaner head assembly - especially on carpets with synthetic content, and in warm dry indoor environments.

It’s cosmetic, and won’t impact the performance of your machine, but you can wipe any clinging dust away from the outer casing using a soft, damp cloth. This will also help dissipate any static charge remaining.

Hope this helps!
