My Dyson floor vacuum cleaner still sucks ok but sounds like a wailing banshee, anybody know what is causing this?

An unusual or high-pitched noise from your vacuum can sometimes be caused by a component or seal being slightly out of position. This can allow an air leak, which in turn causes the noise you hear.
Can you let us know exactly which model of Dyson vacuum you own - you can share a picture here if you’re not sure - and roughly where on the machine the noise is coming from?
