Hello Dyson Community!

I managed to purchase a new Dyson V8 vacuum (replaced the V7). Did not want to go thru same problems as what we did with V7, so were trying to take better take of the V8.

I do have some questions though in terms of topic on ‘Maximise its battery life/Charging and storing’. I hope a few of you can enlighten me on these concepts? Many Thanks!

“Avoid using the machine with the battery flush to a surface, help it run cooler” … and prolong battery run time and life.

I need help with this statement, translate in layman terms please…?!

“Letting the battery run down to empty once a month. To help prolong battery life, avoid recharging immediately after a full discharge. Allow to cool for a few minutes.”

May seem straightforward advise BUT is somewhat contradicting and open to confusion when on instruction manual - - it says you can leave the battery on charge (and that it is meant to be left on charge) so that the machine is ready for the next use…

So what is it? Leave it on charge or have  it fully discharge before charging again? Dunno im confused.
