This post is regarding my continued frustration and sincere disappointment over this vacuum, Dyson V10 Animal.
When my partner told me he wanted a $400 vacuum, I thought he was crazy. When we first got this vacuum three years ago. The vacuum seemed to work ok, best on hard floors, without quality suction for the carpeted area. Then we got our pup, who sheds like a normal dog, but doesn’t have long fur and the shedding isn’t excessive, we understandably started using the vacuum more often. After one week, here’s what I started dealing with every time I try to vacuum:
1. **Filter Issues**: The v10 constantly asks me to empty the filter, even though it's already clean and empty after each use. This is very frustrating and seems to indicate a problem with the device. This leads me to only be able to vacuum for 2-3 seconds at a time, let go of the trigger, let the vacuum turn off, and repeat.
3. **Poor Suction**: At times, the suction isn't strong enough to pick up even small specks of dust. This makes it hard to effectively clean my home. Or it picks up the dust and spits it back out.
It takes me 45 minutes to vacuum 150 sq feet of carpet. In order to get the vacuum to function on any level, I actually have to sweep first before using the vacuum. Even then, the suction will spit back miscellaneous tiny pieces of debris and the filter problem is still an issue. The whole point of a vacuum is to not deal with these inconveniences.
Regarding maintenance, I have cleaned everything regularly per the manual.
This is my first experience with Dyson, and I think it will be my last. I do not believe there’s a part or parts I can replace to fix the issue with the vacuum, reading other forums of individuals who have had similar issues. It seems to be the whole tool itself that is the problem.
I am requesting a refund or some form of compensation. It's unacceptable to keep using a product that doesn't meet the standards I expect from Dyson, especially given the $400 cost.
