why is my viz nav asking me to clean optics every day? | Dyson Community

My new vis nav asks me to clean optics after every clean. I have followed instructions and used a microfibre cloth all over the machine. I have also used a gentle blower to ensure anything that the cloth misses (like dog hair) is moved away from the sensors. Nothing seems to work. My vis nav is less than a month old.

Hi there, I was facing the exact same problem some months ago. At that moment it was a spider causing this. It was creating a new web every night, in which the robot was driving. The spider web was so tiny i could barely see it. But with the help of a flashlight I could see it on one of the robots sensor and the floor. It was a hard time to catch the spider as it was hiding all day. After removing the spider and the web the robot was working again as expected.

Hi morcman, thx for your reply. I did see you thread earlier and did a thorough search for anything like a spider. The spot where I have placed the dock used to be a bit of a haven for tiny spiders so I thoroughly cleaned and sprayed this spot with insect repellent before I installed the dock. Interestingly, although I didn't find any webs or spiders, the issue doesn't appear to be happening anymore. The only other variable that may have contributed is low light. Previously my robot was scheduled to start at 5.45am and again at 5.30pm - I have started to ensure the curtains/ blinds are fully open and haven't had a clean optics warning since.
