Dyson refurbished product purchase experience

I recently purchased a factory refurbished Dyson Hot Cool HP07 via Dyson’s online store. The HP07 is shipped, I receive the item, and upon opening the box, I notice the remote is missing and the base of the unit has a big chunk broken off (the chunk is not in the box so I have to believe that someone put it into the box broken). Strike one.

I called Dyson Service and after a lengthy conversation, they agreed that I could return the HP07 for one that was not broken and included all the parts. I ship with pre-paid label via UPS. The return shipment takes about a week to return, a couple days doing something, and then another week to arrive.

The replacement arrives and I notice the box is quite a bit bigger than the last shipment. I open the box and it the item inside doesn’t look like an HP07 and turns out it was not. It was the TP07, the air only with no heat. Pretty aggrevaged at this point. I call Dyson Support and this time for some reason, it’s a bit harder to get the agent to process the exchange. But ultimately, I make the case, get return shipping label and off to UPS I go - again.

I sure hope the old phrase “third time’s a charm” is a real thing this time. I see the item has been delivered, so I’ll wait a few days and then should receive a shipping notice. I will report back what happens this time.

Honestly a horrible customer experience. Curious is this just me or has this sort of thing happened to others?

Please let community know if resolution. I have been trying to get a replacement since October 2024 without a proper outcome. Dyson is not the company it represents. Terrible service on many levels.

This issue is still not resolved as of February 22, 2025. I have called Dyson support several times as well as chat. I am stuck in limbo. I paid for HP07 on 1/11/2025 and have yet to receive the right product or one that is not broken or missing parts. Honestly, when talking to Support, I feel like this is a scam operation. I returned the latest incorrect shipment (they shipped the entirely wrong product), it arrived in Texas on Feb 5th and the return appears to have gone into a black hole. I guess my only course of action is to dispute the charge now. And Dyson has just flushed years of customer loyalty down the toilet. Takes years to earn trust, and an instant to completely destroy it. They say that it’s not whether there will be issues but how the issues are handled. In this case, the answer is - poorly or better yet, horribly.

We’re sorry to hear about your ordering experience so far. Dyson Renewed machines are always closely inspected and tested during the refurbishment process, so receiving a damaged machine is very unusual. It’s unfortunate that an error occurred with your initial replacement, and we apologise for the inconvenience caused.

I keep hearing that the service will improve, things will be better, don’t worry. But here we are, still do not have the machine, no apparent way to cancel the order, just a constant run-around. One of the support reps told me to “relax” the other day when she was not being helpful - at all. I pledge to never purhcase another product from Dyson.
