There are various ways in which you can instruct your Robot to clean your home. These do vary, depending on the robot vacuum you own. Each of these have been highlighted below.

Start a directed clean
Start from the dock with the Dyson App or voice control
Start the clean using the Dyson app or with voice control that you have set up.
After successfully Mapping and Zoning your home you’ll be able to select individual or multiple zones, specifying the cleaning mode for each.
Choose to use a customised clean of an individual room, a selection of rooms, or clean all accessible areas. Your robot will clean following your mapping, zoning and restriction settings in the Dyson App.
The app will provide an estimate of how long the clean will take and how many times the machine will need to recharge. The cleaning time varies depending on the total floor space of the selected zones and the cleaning modes chosen.
Start from the dock (with auto charge)
Start the clean by choosing your power mode and press and click the LCD touchscreen to start the clean. Your robot will clean all areas that are accessible.
The machine will return to the dock to recharge when the battery is low. Once recharged, it will automatically continue the clean. This process will repeat until all accessible areas have been completed.
Start off the dock (no auto charge)
To instruct the machine to clean a specific area, first move it into the centre of this space and press the LCD screen on the top of the machine. Working out from this location, it will clean all accessible areas it can reach on a single charge.
As it has start off the dock, the machine will not recharge when the battery is low. It will however return to its starting point and switch 'OFF'.
